Using Hypnotherapy, CBT and Mindfulness to help you become an ex-Smoker or Vaper... for good.
I use Hypnotherapy, alongside CBT and Mindfulness, to help people with stopping smoking.
With the help of these techniques, the aim is to break the dependence on cigarettes or vaping so that you feel more confident about your ability to become permanently smoke or vape-free.
Many people who want to stop smoking have already tried several times. Some have switched to vaping in the belief that it would offer a safer alternative, only to find that vaping itself has become another habit they want to break.
There are understandable fears and anxieties around giving up something that may have been part of your daily life for many years. Often, the difficulty is not simply the physical habit itself, but the beliefs that have developed around smoking, vaping and your ability to stop.

Seeking help to stop Smoking or Vaping.
Many smokers will have tried several times to quit before achieving lasting success.
If you have been trying to stop smoking or vaping for some time, you may have begun to believe that you are simply incapable of doing so. That belief can become part of the problem.
Working on changing the way you think about smoking, and regaining a sense that you are in control of your choices, is an important part of my approach.
I use hypnotherapy, CBT and Mindfulness to help you challenge unhelpful beliefs, understand the patterns that keep the habit in place and develop a more positive view of becoming smoke-free.
How beliefs about stopping Smoking or Vaping may be affecting you.
Stopping smoking or vaping can be difficult, but people often develop additional mental obstacles that make quitting seem even harder.
- Feeling resigned to the idea that you will never be able to stop is very common. You may know exactly why you want to quit and still feel convinced that you will fail.
- Continuing to smoke or vape while becoming increasingly worried about your health can create considerable anxiety. This may be particularly strong after a health warning or when you begin noticing symptoms that concern you.
- Feeling increasingly uncomfortable with the financial or social impact of smoking is also common. The cost may have become difficult to justify, and smoking can feel increasingly out of step with the way you want to live, yet the habit still feels difficult to break.
I have recently completed my hypnotherapy session to stop smoking after trying several other methods. Paul helped me to feel completely at ease and created a calm, secure environment to allow me to feel able to relax. The assessment process is comprehensive, which enables Paul to tailor the programme to your needs which I feel is the key to the success of the treatment.
Why an individual approach is needed.
There have been countless books, methods and programmes produced over the years promising to help people stop smoking.
Some contain useful ideas, but they necessarily have to take a broad approach.
Your reasons for smoking, and more importantly your reasons for wanting to stop, are individual to you. I therefore tailor my work around your own history, habits, triggers and motivations rather than assuming that exactly the same approach will work for everyone.
My work may draw on hypnotherapy, CBT and Mindfulness, depending on what seems most useful for you.
Hypnotherapy
Stopping smoking hypnotherapy can help you imagine and emotionally connect with a life in which smoking or vaping no longer has the same hold over you.
I use it to help strengthen confidence, challenge established associations and support the changes you have decided to make.
CBT
CBT can help us identify the thoughts and behaviours that keep the smoking or vaping habit going.
Together, we can challenge unhelpful assumptions and develop practical ways of responding differently to situations in which you would previously have reached automatically for a cigarette or vape.
Mindfulness
I use Mindfulness as a practical form of mental maintenance.
It can help you recognise triggers, cravings and uncomfortable thoughts without feeling that you have to act on them immediately, giving you more space to make a conscious choice.
Paul Levrant. Hypnotherapy, CBT and Mindfulness to help with stopping Smoking or Vaping
I came to train as a therapist in mid-life following a long career in business, and my aim has always been to offer a practical approach to the everyday difficulties people bring to therapy.
I began with clinical hypnotherapy and later added CBT, Mindfulness and other approaches.
Over the years, I have helped many hundreds of clients who wanted to stop smoking or vaping. This experience led me to develop the Hypnowellness Smoking Cessation Programme for people who want a more structured and individually tailored approach to stopping smoking or vaping.
