Take the Stress Test Here

Stress and stress-related conditions underpin so much suffering in our daily lives. Now, with the new economic reality that the Credit Crunch has brought in it's wake, those who were previously just coping at the limit of their resources are suddenly overwhelmed, and left helpless as a sea of anxiety surges over them. The feeling of helplessness in the face of such catastrophic and irresistible change has lead to countless people struggling with inadequate coping strategies. Ironically, this state may further prevent the individual from making the right decisions necessary to navigate these turbulent times, and traps them in an ever-decreasing downward spiral.

Recent research* suggests that anywhere from 60 to 90 percent of illness is stress-related. The physical wear and tear of stress includes damage to the cardiovascular system (heart) and weakening of the immune system. Stress compromises your ability to fight off disease and infection, making you more susceptible to illness. It can also throw your digestive system off balance, leading to uncharacteristic weight loss or gain. The severe detrimental effects to your quality of life can make all this even more unbearable.

There is a stress test HERE that you can take here online which will give you an indication of how well you are coping.

It is vital for anyone who feels that they are suffering from the effects of unmanaged stress to seek help at the earliest opportunity. If you have any disturbing physical symptoms, it is recommended that you see your GP for a check up; and then begin to take steps to minimise the impact on your health as soon as possible.

The Hypnowellness approach to stress management focuses on discovering what your negative "stressors" (your own personal causes of stress) are; and by using combined Hypnotherapy and CBT (Cognitive Behavioural Therapy) techniques you can learn to address these issues and begin to gently modify your behaviour away from the old habitual responses.

An important part of my approach to stress management is also to teach powerful self-help techniques such as self-hypnosis, relaxation and cognitive behavioural therapy methods which when practised can lead to a much greater state of calm.

An initial free consultation for stress management is available at all my practice locations - in North London in Highgate and in Radlett (Herts). I also see clients with stress management difficulties from my City of London practice.

Hypnotherapy and CBT (Cognitive Behavioural Therapy) sessions are usually for one hour; and regular sessions are recommended. If you feel that you are suffering from poorly managed stress, or if you have noticed a lessening in your ability to cope recently, do please contact me for a free consultation without obligation as soon as possible.

Many busy people convince themselves that being 'relaxed' somehow means that they will not be working effectively. In fact the reverse is true - when you are relaxed, you are able to work much more efficiently and also enable and promote greater productivity in those around you. So don't wait for things to just "get better on their own"; take the first step in regaining control today.
