Mythical Memories
The papers report this morning that what we think we recall from our early childhood might not be real after all. Memories can be "planted" - either deliberately (as seems to be suggested by the experiments that the report describes) - or just through our own imagination.
The most interesting part of this was, in my view, the apparent continuation of our belief in the event as a memory even when we KNEW it to be false!
The subconscious is a truly remarkable part us isn't it?
